Design Process

All Charts are hand edited to order and usually take 2-3 weeks per design depending on demand i.e. Christmas / Mothers Day.

Please ensure replies to any emails are sent quickly to avoid any delay in processing your order.  Often we send out multiple previews depending on the pictures proportions or any requests received.
 

1. Preview Sample sent with 48 hours of ordering.

2. Finalised Sample sent within 5-7 working days.

3. Chart Only posted/emailed within 5-7 working days.

Q.  Does the Full kit contain all threads?
A.   Yes it contains Anchor threads pre-sorted onto an organiser, Fabric, A4 design sheets held in a booklet, Full Instructions & a needle.

Q.  Can you create a kit using DMC threads instead of Anchor threads?
A.   We only stock Anchor threads; instead we can offer you the “Chart Only” option with fabric added.

Q.  Are your designs Printed onto the Fabric?
A.   No, this is known as Stamped or Printed Cross Stitch, we just created Counted Cross Stitch design.

Q.  What's "Counted" mean?
A.   Counted is when you follow a paper chart and count the stitches onto a plain piece of Aida fabric.

Q.  How soon can I accept to receive my preview sample?
A.   Preview samples are usually emailed within 48 hours (excluding weekends and bank holidays).

Q.  How soon can I expect to receive my purchase?
A.   A final sample is usually emailed for approval within  5-7 working days of receipt of payment. Once you have confirmed you are happy with the final sample then the design is created and a kit (7-10 working days) or a Chart (5-7 Working days) is produced and posted.

Q.  I have purchased the “Chart Only” can I also purchase the Fabric as well?
A.   Yes, just add the fabric option to your purchase.  If you wish to purchase after already paying for the Chart please email us and an Invoice will be sent.

Q.  Can you give advice on the best size and count Aida to use?
A.   Yes just email your picture to us and ask for advice.  We will then advise you which size and count Aida to use.  We can also produce a range of samples for you to choose from.

Q.  What is the different between the Aida Counts/Evenweave?
A.   The Aida count is worked out by counting the number of holes per inch i.e 14ct is 14 holes per inch.  Evenweave is calculated by doubling the Aida count i.e 14ct Aida is 28ct Evenweave.  We only stock Aida fabric but can create a Chart instead.

Q.  Does the picture have to be a photo?
A.   We can produce a design from any image as long is it is of good quality i.e.. photo, drawing, painting, but MUST be copyright free.  Images taken from the Internet are unable to be accepted.  If we are feel the image is copyright then we my decline to accept your order and we will email you.

Q.  What is the best size picture in pixels to email?
A.   The bigger the picture size is the better.  Ideally a minimum of 600 x 400 pixels, but we can look at smaller pictures.

Q.  Can you edit or remove parts of a picture?
A.   Any part of the picture can be edited or removed.  For example Backgrounds, wrongly placed object like a car, person etc.

Q.  Why do you not show any Family / Individual pictures on your website?
A.   We do many pictures of people but samples are not shown to protect the rights of the individuals.
 
Q.  What methods of payment do you accept?
A.   We accept Credit & Debit Card, PayPal, Nochex & UK Telephone. 
 
Q.  Do you offer a Gift Certificate for the Stitch A Photo Kit/Chart?
A.   Yes, we only offer this as a Full Kit, please see the following link. Stitch A Photo Gift Voucher

Q.  What’s the difference between Anchor & DMC?
A.   Each manufacturer has different colour numbers, some colours can be matched if required, but the same 6 stranded type of thread.

Q.  My Chart has become damaged can I order a duplicate copy?
A.  Duplicate Copies of Charts can be produced.  The is an admin fee of £5.00 + current postage (PDF Version can be sent via email).

Q.  Could you create a design in a circle or oval finish?
A.   Yes just advise in the additional information section in the Preview Request Form.
 
Q.  Can you insert wording on the design?
A.   Yes just advise on the Preview Request Form.  I.e. Marriage details, Birth Details, Person’s Name or Animals Name.
 
Q.  Are you able to product a Tapestry Kit from a picture?
A.   Yes a Tapestry kit is just produced using Wools instead of cotton.  We can supply the full kit but are unable to print the fabric you would receive a printed chart to follow as with a Cross Stitch kit.
