NEW GPSR Regulations - European Union & Northern Ireland

The EU’s new General Product Safety Regulations (GPSR) come into force on 13th December 2024, replacing older safety rules to ensure that all consumer products sold in the EU meet modern safety standards.

Unfortunately due to the strict regulations and terms for selling we will be unable to continue to sell to the EU & NI after the 13th December 2024.  This also includes any Digital Products too.

What does this mean for us at Skye Stitching & Photos

The new regulations apply to all products placed or made available on the market whether new, used, repaired or reconditioned, with certain exceptions listed here. ‘Product’ means any item intended for consumers or likely to be used by consumers, whether in return for payment or free of charge. So even if you do not see yourself as a manufacturer making products, or you send something you have made for free to a customer based in the EU or Northern Ireland, these regulations still apply to you.

We will be changing our delivery settings on the website which will restrict orders from being placed from the EU/NI. If for any reason one is received we will have to refund and cancel the order.

We are hoping there will be a change of terms and conditions with these new regulations and if any changes happen we will let you know as soon as we have any more information.

What do this mean for EU & NI Customers

You have until 6th December at 5pm (No Stitch a Photo orders can be placed) to place an order with us, and after that we will be unable to dispatch items.  This is a sad time for use all and due to the strict regulations our hands are tied.

Workaround

If you have any friends or family in the UK orders can be placed and sent to them directly.  You can collect them from them next time you see them.

At present it is unclear if the guidelines will allow these parcels to be forwarded to you as gift parcels.  If we get any more information we will update this page.
